its not that im trying to help them out of their cacoons, i just wanted to be sure that was true. im getting a butterfly tattoo representing the relationship between my mom and i, so you see where the symbolism comes in??

yes because the act of escaping out of the cocoon helps strengthen them and if you help them out they don't end up having enough strength to fly etc..

They have very little circulation in the cocoon, and the act of breaking out get's their metabolism going. It's best not to help them. Tell your mom that you learn better by making your own mistakes, that you'll remember things better that you learn on your own, and that you need to find your own system for doing things.

They're too fragile at that point to have hands or fingers on them.

only if your rough and damage their soft bodies, or if you dont let them hang for their wings to form
