I want to remodel my bathroom, and the floor isn't level. I thought I heard of a product a while ago that you poured onto the floor and it would self-level it. I don't have a tonne of money, but the floor needs to be level.. can I do it without paying a contractor to come in and rip up my floor? Any ideas or suggestions?

I have no idea what's under it. At the moment, there's linoleum, and under that, plywood flooring... I don't know if there's anything under that or not. I just bought the house, and the inspector said it could be unlevel because of weight or anything like that but the floor system isn't weak.

Quikrete makes it

Self-Leveling Floor Resurfacer

Self-finishing interior floor toppings and underlayments specially formulated to produce smooth surfaces ready for the installation of ceramic tile, resilient flooring or other finishes. No troweling required.

But before you do that be sure that the floor is solid. It may be unlevel because of a weak floor system. If it IS solid, go ahead and use the self-leveler. I've used it and got good results

would like to know what type of flooring already exist, wood, concrete slab, green board ? they do sell a floor leveling product
at the big box hardware stores and can give you a lot of tips of the trade, and hold free classes. hope this helps a little, i don't think that you will be needing the contractor for this particular job
because it is relatively simple.

you can use thinset mortar to lay you tile on without the prep time of letting a selfleveling compound dry for a couple of days..
