its interesting to me that we are so influenced by news reports that we seem to think it reflects the actual situation across the country or globe for that matter.........statistically you have a better chance of crashing in an airplane than being a victim of violent crime and that makes it a very long shot to begin with....surveys have shown that violent crime incidence has also gone down as whole in america....what we need is a more discerning public who look things in their true perspective...perhaps bush jr would not be in power if this is so

First of all, America is not violent. American people may be. Not all. Prisons are overcrowded in America. As our Country grows, and immigration laws become stiffer, we will settle down. We have a variety of different cultures here, and many have come to abuse the systems we have in place (not all!). Like flying in to give birth and have your baby be American, have it paid for by Medicare and then flying back out not long after, with no bills to pay and a baby that will grow up in a different country and still be a legal resident in America. http://www.usenetbusiness.com/consumers/8849-middle-eastern-women-accused.html
Aside from that, we probably have the power to catch more people than some other country's and lock them up. Maybe some of the crimes they are in Jail for, would not happen in another Country.

Fact from fiction, truth from diction. Nearly every place you go violence can be found. Violence here is due to selfishness and entitement. This nation was founded off violence. The violence a by product of greed and selfishness. How many people and creeds were sent through the wine press of Uncle Sam? the Native American and African Americans paying the largest price. But the Asian and Hispanic had their share. And to this day rements of it remain. Then add the fact that society seem rather bland to seeing depictions of murder on TV nearly daily and some of the most popular video games include shooting and or likking some one. Kind of make you have the "Dirty Harry" mentality. If someone don't do as you say, make them.

Americas expenses of violent crime have particularly fallen off the twenty years or so. (It started dropping early in the 90s, relating to the time that the youngsters aborted attributable to Roe v Wade could have been falling by the wayside of highschool and starting to be a member of gangs, yet it is basically a correllation, no longer causation). the justifications for violent crime are complicated. One significant contributor is the prohibition of entertainment drugs, which effectively subsidizes prepared crime. Immigration is likewise a ingredient, rather unlawful immigration, for sure. in many different liberal democracy, many drugs are criminal or basically modestly regulated, so are issues like protitution or playing - those 'vices' can function retailers for violent dispositions, and while run legitimately, to no longer supply an financial base to help the existance of violent prepared crime cartels. no longer plenty, no. usa of america attracts financial refugees better than political refugees or conflict refugees. in case you're dealing with political violence, you may flee to a neighboring u . s ., or to Europe or perhaps Canada until now usa of america. in case you're finding to make some money, OTOH, you flow to usa of america. usa of america is safer than this is been in the previous, no longer as secure because it may be if we rationalized a number of our rules, yet no longer something to be somewhat stressful approximately.

Actually the violent crimes has been decreasing ever since they legalized abortion. I am not making this up. Check out the statistics yourself. I guess it is because less unwanted/unloved children that tend to be violent (crack babies etc).

Also, we have a lot of laws that put people in jail for non-violent crimes, like drugs. Other countries don't have these laws, so by comparison, it looks like we commit a lot of crimes.

I ask this every time I turn on the news.......is it to much multi culturism? too many people in one country? is the line between the "haves and have nots" to big to ever cross? I always wonder why a country that is such a huge world power is so angry and violent.
