Make up phrases or pictures to fit, like I taught my stepdaughter about obtuse and acute angles. The wide ones are big fat obtuse angles, and the smaller ones are a 'cute' angle. The normal ones are 'just right' angles. I know that is basic stuff but the same principle applies! I found the best way to use them is to make up problems that use them, so that you understand them. do it about 7 times for each one. I mean make up your own problems. while you're doing the problems, say the terms to yourself and think about them alot. refer back to the definition as much as you can.
