And who exactly do you think builds that mega-yacht, the Keebler Elves? Why don't you tell yacht companies that they have to fire their employees because jealous people don't want rich people to have yachts.

Money that is saved is invested to produce further economic growth and jobs.

Neither is worse unless you are one of those people who waste their time hating rich people.

Hi,

if have to choose between this 2. there is 2 answer :
1. from my view, better they buy luxury mega-yacht. so there is will be money rotation. and from that yacht many employee will be absorb. there is also money for maintainance. this is good for money moving.
2. from rich person view, better to save money or invest in other biz, so there is many income.

but if there is other option, from point of view society better they donate their money.

Cheers !!

Buying a luxury mega-yacht is worse I suppose. At least when you save your millions, you can still set up a foundation upon your death or do good with it in the future.

i don't think a rich person saving is a bad thing but a mega-yacht...what the hell lol. they should however use the money as charity. only a small portion if they want.

Neither is worse than the other...Nothing wrong with either of them. Anyone, whether rich or poor chooses to spend their money on whatever they want! No one elses business, period.

Consumption now versus consuption later. You need a little of both.

Economics does not provide moral judgements, only relative efficiency based on assumed preferrences.

Neither decision is bad. If the person has earned the millions he is free to do with it whatever he chooses.
