Hurricane season is technically June - Nov. However Nov. tends to be fine for travel. There are certain islands in the Caribbean that are more likely to see hurricanes in there area and Jamaica is one of them. It has to do with the water temps. When you travel down to Southern islands they certainly can get hurricanes, but usually tend to dissipate down to a tropical storm by the time they reach some of them. For example St. Lucia, St. Kitts/Nevis, Antigua, Barbados, Trinidad/Tobago, St. Barts, etc.
The hurricane hot-spots more so are Cozumel, Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Bahamas, Dominican Republics, Florida, Cancun, Playa Del Carmen are to list a few.
If traveling during hurricane season it is always in your best interest to purchase travel insurance. Even when not traveling in hurricane season though there are several benefits to purchasing such as Medical because odds are you aren't medically covered internationally. Military Insurance policies tend to be a bit different.
Not everyone travels internationally so it wouldn't really be fair for the insurance companies to include this in there policy and it would raise premiums by quite a bit. It also covers trip interruption, trip cancellation, baggage delay, flight delay, etc. These all of course are depended on if it is a covered reason. As agents we always give you contact information to ask specific questions. I can't speak for most agents, but I know our agency doesn't charge a service fee to purchase insurance for clients, because well it is so highly recommended. I have some horror stories like you wouldn't believe from clients over the years (not all of my clients, but other agents).
Jamaica is an amazing country and it is too bad that some just refuse to go there. Most of you have heard a "bad story" on why not to go to Jamaica, but if you asked where they stayed 9 out of 10 times it wasn't a very high rated hotel. In Jamaica, you don't have to stay in the most expensive 5 star hotel but this isn't the place to say "It doesn't matter where we stay". It really does matter where you stay as your resort is a huge chunk of your holiday. You have to remember when traveling to another country standards are different than in the US so the rating scale is not the same. One of the many reasons it is strongly advised to work with a travel agent.
Jamaica is the 2nd top honeymoon destination so they must be doing something right!
If there is anything further I can help you with or assist you with your travel arrangements feel free to email me and I can give you my contact information.

The hurricane season is from june untill november, but it's not a reason to stay away there. I am going to Dominican Republic already a few times and always in oktober-november and a hurricane less or more, that don't botter me.

You extra perfect leave the coats behind till you want one to get again homestead in once you arrive again on the airport. i'd leave the boots behind as well. the elements in Jamaica is both "warm and moist", "warm and dry", "too warm" and "very warm". you want sandals, shorts, shirts, hues, solar tan lotion and a hat. i'd also positioned on white or elementary colored shoes (I wore a black one a pair years in the past and boy were my ft on fireplace!) attempt this and also you celebrate. Montego Bay is a magnificent position to bypass to. have relaxing!
