Mercedes-AMG is the tuning arm of the Mercedes-Benz car company.
AMG or Aufrecht Melcher Großaspach was founded in 1967 by former Mercedes engineers Hans-Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher in a town near Stuttgart called Großaspach.
"AMG" is an acronym that stands for: Hans Werner Aufrecht (A) and Eberhard Melcher (M) were partners, while Aufrecht’s birthplace of Großaspach (G) supplied the third letter in the company name.
As for BMW ... It's Bayersiche Motoren Werke (Bavarian Motor Works). It was originally RMW or Rapp Motoren Werke.

BMW means Bayerische Motoren Werke (Bavarian Motor Works) and AMG means the car is tuned up related to the special tunning devision of Mercedes benz

BMW stands for Bavarian Motor Works. Not sure what AMG stands for but I know it's the "souped up" version of Mercedes.

AMG is the name of a company that does modifications for Mercedes. BMW (once again a company name) is Bayerischen Moteren Werken. that's the name of a German town and Motor Works.

BMW does not mean "Be my Wife" or "***** Moan Wine"
It is German and it is Bayerische Mist Wagen
As far as the Mercedes AMG try this:
CLK is a mercedes car make
DTM is a racing series
AMG are the tuners
SO it is a Mercedes CLK tuned by AMG racing in the DTM (European touring cars)
AMG is the performance tuned engine in a Mercedes
