I have 2 cd drives in my computer, D: & E:.. My D: drive is a CD R/RW drive and E: is only a CD/R drive. On my desktop, in My Computer; sometimes I open the folder and both drives are showing up. Most of the time though, I open the folder and both drives are not there. My question is this; Why do my drives seem to come and go more often than what my kids do, LOL?

Hi,I had a simalar problem a few days ago.It seems to be fixed by re-setting the cmos.Basically you can do it by shorting the right jumper connection....but i do it by removing the cmos battery(the little coin size one on the mobo)for a twenty minutes,with the pc totally unplugged then replace it and start-up again.Changing the battery is probebly a good bet while you have it out.........good luck!
