The story line was good, the psychology of it was or could have been mind altering, even though you know it is fiction you can't help but wonder. The actual movie really needed more meat to it. I felt another good story line was the movie SAW. Again, great story line but not enough substance and not the best of actors. I feel if both these movies had the right actors, directors and lets not forget budget, they could have been truly terrorizing.

I disagree.
The Exorcist and The Shining were much more scary than The Ring. My favorite horror film of all time is Invasion of the Body Snatchers, but of course that was made in the fifties and people today don't seem to appreciate horror films that lack blood and gore.

If you are afraid of that then I suggest not to watch that Lizzie Mcguire Movie because it is VERY scary. it's too horrible to watch, you might turn to stone or burst into flames. But really, a truly scary movie is Final Destination which I thought had great use of anxiety. And Fredy vs. Jason with alot of blood, gore, violence, but its funny at the same time at some parts. The ring isn't scary at all to me. neither is Saw, Ring 2, none of that. But Final Destination III and I, Freddy vs jason, nightmare on Elm Street, Texas Chainsaw...brilliant!
Go ahead and call me a pussy when I say Freddy scared me so much I couldn't sleep two days straight afraid he would kill me in my dreams.

I totally agree with elpeesee. The Ring was scary, but The Exorcist is by far the scariest. I can hear Regan's voice just by anyone mentioning the movie.

I disagree 145%. I haven't really even seen a movie that has made me JUMP. All these scary movies are stupid, like The Grudge 2. Looking at that commercial, I thought that was a joke, no lie. I didn't think it was serious.

The ring was very scary. It gave me nightmares for like a month. And the grudge wasn't very scary and i'm too afraid to watch the exorcist or the shining. Scary movies often seem to be the ______. Never though about that before.

I disagree - good movie, creepy in places, but since it was Americanized, it lost A LOT in translation. Not the scariest movie in my opinion, but a great scary movie nonetheless.
As far as scary, I'd probably have to go with The Exorcist (the original version). Just something about being afraid for your soul...I dunno.
