the media respects no one! remember hurricaine katrina? they totally misinterperted that! i swear the entire media was white and therefore centered on the poorest of the blacks! so of course, if they think the amish don't wanna be on film they will be right there in the bushes centering on faces of mourning parents in their grimmest moments! if they could get the footage of steve irwin or the grizzlybear man, anyway possible, they would show it over and over and over and over. stupid media, did you expect anything BUT putting the amish on film and showing it all over?!?

The reason the Amish don't want their picture taken is not because they think it will steal your soul. They aren't idiots. They feel it is showing too much pride in oneself. As for the media leaving them alone...why would they? They don't respect the Amish people's wishes for privacy any more than they do anyone else. Like a bunch of vultures.

The Amish don't want their pictures taken because they believe that cameras steal your soul.

And journalists are doing it because they consider it too good a story to pass up. It's not like the Amish will do anything to them. It's win-win.

Why did they photograph Princess Diana as she was dying? Why do they torment celebrities? It makes them money. There is no respect for human life, death or suffering.
