I looked at another ad for a position that opened up with a naval museum that I had applied for a few days ago. I took a good look at the advertisment and then realized that the resume I sent in didn't address some of the requirements of the job.

Should I email the resume again, telling them that I made a mistake on the first one (or say that here's an "updated" version of the resume)?

i would probably resend, and you can just write that you updated your resume or revised it. or you can just resend and hope they don't notice they already saw a similar one. :) good luck!

You should email the resume again, but don't say you "made a mistake." Say you're constantly finessing it.

If you want to expand on that, add that the tweaks are based on input from friends and professionals whose advice you sought. I really don't see it as a problem. Oh, just make sure you name the file something that indicates it's THE current version, like the date and/or time or something like that.

Also, name it with your last name, then maybe the date. Who knows where they detach it and save it?

It would look better if you say you "updated" it. Cheers and good luck getting the job!

I wouldn't say anything. Just resend it.
