Prioritization is key. What can wait until the weekend? Remember, you have many hours during Sat and Sun to do more focused reading.

What absolutely needs to be done each day? is there a test coming up? That takes priority.

Pre-planning is important, too. If you know that a paper is due in three weeks about a specific topic, start collecting information weeks in advance so compiling the paper isn't a rush job that takes your total concentration away from your other classes.

And don't put socialization down on the priority list. One of the major lessons you will carry away with you from college is how you lived with and learned from your dormmates and classmates. Make the most of the dining hall, the quad gathering area, etc.

You will learn to pick you classes better as you go forward. You will also learn what time of day you are best for studying. Don't pick 4 heavy reading classes together. Don't pick all morning classes if you can't study in the afternoons. Just keep aware of what you are doing well and not well.

Oh, and most important... if your course of study is more of a burden than a learning experience, you might want to consider a different major or direction. Remember, if you don't like learning something, you will not want to do it as a career.

These are the lessons you learn in freshman year along with dozens others. Talk with upper classmen. Ask them how they do it.

Well, the fact is that you really don't have enough time in your day. Some things you can do to improve your time management is to layout your week beforehand. Try and plan your errands while keeping in mind there relative distance to what else is going on in your life. Such as, waiting to stop by the bank untill you head off to class because the bank is on the way. You know **** like that.

Otherwise, you might wanna start smoking meth

schedule a time out.. sometimes you need quiet time to regain focus. let go of time fillers that arent as important to streamline your routine and pick goals to complete projects. having things accesible without having to hunt them down saves minutes during the day.. I wish I had the disipline to follow this advice myself.

get organized. try to space things out, try not to procrastinate and if you know how, multi task. do little bits at a time. don't sit there and write a 5 page essay all at once, space it out write a page today another page tomorrow etc. spacing things out is the important part.
