HELLO AMERICA , IT'S YOUR WAKE UP CALL! America is no longer under the guise that terrorist actions cannot happen on American soil. We now know that violent can spread hate fast and wide, even on American soil, as a result of this knowledge we have become more guarded with other counties.We are learning to control and protect our problems first before we go galloping off to the aid of others. We no longer dismiss threats against our country. The biggest change in America is that no one is asleep or fogged under.

Yes it is a Sociology based question. How HASN'T it changed America. In my case it means being kept apart from my husband (an American) for at least a year because of tough immigration guidelines. (yes, we have been married over a year...)

Typically, words us foreigners use to describe policy-making after 9/11 in the US are things like "draconian" and "paranoia"...

Good question.
Often changes in people who have experienced trauma can be delayed, as in post traumatic stress.
I sometimes wonder if the recent rash of crimes in our city along with the recent killing in the schools across the US arent delayed triggers from 9/ll.
At any rate there obviously is "paranoia".
Look at the Iraq war, it was built on paranoia not even fact.
