The cold air hurts it. How long until it is healed? I am already taking an anti-inflammatory medicine daily for an arm problem, but it doesnt seem to keep the swelling down. What else can I do?

I thought two weeks was a little long to still have the swelling, this is why I am asking about it. I did make the ER trip when I did it to find out that it was only sprained. ...and they wanted me to get up and WALK out!?!? They gave me a walker to use, and I used it for the first couple days and then started hopping around without it. (hard to use it since I also have the problem with my arm (tennis elbow) and a recently broken finger)
Anyway, how much longer do I have to elevate? Should I get it rechecked??

Try elevating it and often. Try heat, moist or dry to it. You need to stay off of it. You may have reinjured it by walking on it too soon.

You probably bruised it and it's going to take awhile. Have you tried to wrap it, like with an ACE bandage to stabilize the foot? I would stay off it as much as possible and raise it above heart level. Most likely you didn't break anything but it doesn't take much to cause a fracture, even a hairline fracture. Two weeks is an awlful long time for it to still be swollen. Give it a few more days, then I would advise getting it checked out. You may be walking on a fracture and not know it. It's better to be sure.

Hi, stay off your ankle as much as possible and elevate it with an ice pack 15 mins on and 15 off. Do this for about 1 hour each day. It should help alot.

good luck

The swelling is telling you to elevate that leg and to stay off it when you can.
