I'm a multimedia major but I would like to sit in for some networking classes and be ungraded do you think this is a stupid question to ask the dean? and do you think it's possible I would be ungraded for sure just I almost went to school for networking and I want to get my ba in their network security program so that why I'm interested in sitting in on classes

shouldnt be a problem.. you might let the instructor know who you are if its a small class.. im sure he wont mind as long as you dont expect a grade..

You should look at your unversity's catalog to see what their policies are on auditing a class.

An auditor pays the same fees and enjoys the same instructional privileges as a student enrolled for credit, but is not held responsible for examinations or term papers. If you wish to enroll in a course as an auditor, you will probably need to obtain permission from the instructor of the course. Enrollment as an auditor is usually only permitted after students otherwise eligible to enroll on a credit basis have had an opportunity to do so.

That is usually ok with the teachers. Usually there needs to be a couple of open seats, but ask the teacher and they should let you. In giant classes (lecture halls) you can usually just walk in and sit down without even telling the teacher. They never can remember 200 + students.

You should talk to the professor who teaches it. Explain him the situation. I don't think he will mind if you sit in his class.

its called auditing a class...and its possible...all you have to do is speak to your advisor and the professor...
