A mother takes her 9 year old twin girls out on 'dates' - with boys they like - to restaurants. She also shaves the girls' legs for them. Does she just want them to grow up too fast or is this abuse? Is this teaching them the wrong thing at 9???

This same woman also allows forces her 9 year olds to shower with their 15 year old sister to 'save hot water'. I'm questioning all these odd behaviors before I talk to someone about it.

Well i dont think its abuse, but thats my opinion. she is definitly guilty of pushing her girls to become young women too quickly. little girls need to be little, saddens me when i see young girls being women, when at 13 i was still playing barbies, at 16 i couldnt go to parties where there were boys......and im only 23 its sad...:(

sounds like she just wants them to grow up a faster than what they should. i don't think you can consider that abuse, but what 9 year old girl likes boys? i know when i was that age i thought all boys had cooties and i couldn't stand them. i don't think i was all that worried about the hair on my legs at that age either. if you're able to approach this "mother" you may want to say something to her about it. there will be plenty enough time for shaved legs and dates when the girls get older. it's best just to let them be what they are right now-kids

This woman has some rather ....weird...parenting ideas. That's a certainty. I pray that when the girls are about 11 or 12 they don't wind up making this woman an grandmother. (I had to sit down and explain to my daughter when she was 11 why a classmate of her's was pulled from school...her classmate was pregnant. Her mom and dad condoned such early "supervised dates". And yes, the parents were charged by CPS for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.)

Does she call it that?..... it could be just a form of socializing,.... but heck... the shaving part sure is disturbing. Maybe she doesn't want her kids to grow up like she did.... not having been allowed to date until she was maybe thirty.... it seems very radical to introduce them to this topic at such young age. Maybe she wants to take the mystery out of the word "dating" by doing this....
Before you judge her, please find out more... she must have her reasons.... and it might be a pretend kind of thing.... as I said to make the girls not look at "dating" as something so mysterious and interesting... and the shaving part might be like little kids putting on nail polish like Mom.... I would continue observing this situation, though .... how this progresses.... it is a bit suspicious.

I don't think that qualifies as abuse but it does seem strange. I think she is rushing the shaving thing though. I don't think I've ever seen a 9 year old with hair on her legs.

I don`t think its abuse. She prolly just wants them to grow up too fast. Thats kinda weird and prolly not good for the girls.

no she is not abusing them, she probably wants their girls to grow up fast,to be ladies,to look always great and so on...let her in peace ...the girls are her children and everybody grows his children in another way...
why don`t you just ask her why she is doing that?

I wouldn't say that it is abuse but that Mom needs a wake-up call!
Pray for her!
