No one, black or white, has pigment in their palms or soles of their feet. Thats why the skin is light.

Hmmm. Interesting question. All humans -- black, white, Asian -- lack pigment in their palms. It is just more pronounced in people with dark skin because it it contrasts more with the rest of the surface.
The more interesting question is, why is that humans have less pigment in their palms? I did find one link on the internet where people are speculating on this, but it doesn't sound like anyone has come up with a good answer.
The most entertaining answer I found was the following:
Humans are pigs... they can't remember to wash their hands. As a result, early homonid's palms were coated with dirt and mud. This defeated the need for skin coloring on the palms, because solar rays didn't penetrate the coating. To this day, human mothers have to insist their children wash their hands or they'd still be coated with dirt and mud.

I just noticed that. I think everyone of us have light colored (or colored lighter than the rest of the body) palms. It's just that African American people (or another race with darker skin) have darker pigmented skin than a race with lighter skin so it's more noticeable.

everybody has skin that is lighter on their palms and feet.
look at urs, isnt te color on ur palm different from the color of ur face?

When god was spray painting them they were on their hands and feet, bending over.
