Blade Runner, by Ridley Scott.

The way Ridley Scott portrays LA in the future is awesome. Dark atmosphere, dripping water everywhere and a mixture of old structures with new technologies. That sort of new ethnic group formed with Asians, Latins, Blacks and Caucasians. Simply masterful. And the script. Take a loook at this:

"I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life, anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die. "

A few years ago, I wrote a short novel depicting my home town in the future (Caracas, I'm from Venezuela). After reading it, someone told me "You took it right out of Blade Runner". I hadn't noticed it but, yes he was right. I had been influenced by that movie without consciously noticing it.

Anything with Will Smith!
"I Robot","Indepence Day","Men In Black"...etc.
He's not in any of the following titles, but they were all good too!
"Serenity" was good. If you like animated fare then "Titan AE" is a good choice."Event Horizon" was AWESOME,if you like disturbing movies.Check out the "Mystery Science 3000" library if you want a good laugh!

"Forbidden Planet" from the 50's is a favorite. Great story line, humor, romance, action and effects. Not to mention great actors.

There are no good Sci-Fi movies. All movies on Sci-Fi suck and are incredibly cheesy.
