Eeek, how do you lose an edge??? I lost at least two inches off a pair of goalies skates that were just sharpened. I was just curious how you lose an edge. So how do you????

It sounds to me like your blades are hitting the goal posts. As goalies move from side to side on the ice they have a tendancy to hit their skate blades into the posts. The posts are between 2 and 3 inch diameter so that sounds right.

losing an edge is normally a term that is used when a skater is riding an edge (normally turning) and falls. and i highly doubt you lost two inches off you skates when they were sharpened considering that a normal blade isn't even that.
