DON'T DO IT!!!!!

Some little girls chose not to have their ears pierced and it is unfair to them to put puncture wounds in their body without giving them a choice. It is not cute. Its barbaric.

Second, babies ears have A LOT of growing to do and depending on the child, the placement of the piercings can be radically crooked once their ears stop growing.
Earrings on babies present a choking hazard whether you have a really good backing on it or not...they can still come off an get in the mouth.
Lots of times infants move and cause the person that is doing the piercing to become nervous or even miss the target spot. Sometimes they cannot even line them up properly.
Do not go to the doctor. They charge like $150 and usually end up doing the most crooked piercings.

I pierced for several years and am telling you this not to scare you but to inform you. So many people do this because it is common and nobody knows any better. Now you do!

Any place that will pierce a baby will use a piercing gun. These use pressure to force a pointed stud through the baby's ear. Yes it will hurt. Yes she will cry. Yes, she can get scarring and have problems from the blunt force trauma that these studs inflict. Piercing guns were designed for tagging cattle. I kid you not. Look it up. Also, 99% of those guns are plastic. The woman will wipe it off with an alcohol swap, if you are lucky, to "sterilize" it. This will only clean off some of the surface contaminiants. Plastic is a pourous material and will trap bacteria and micro blood spray from the 1000's of ears that it has pierced prior to your child. Do you want to risk this? Also, gun piercers are not trained in cross contamination, blood borne pathogens, anatomy or even basic first aid. I think this is a little unnerving. This is your BABY!

Wait until she is old enough to ask for the earrings. It is her little body and it should be up to her if she wants to have her ears pierced or not. When the time comes take her to a reputable professional piercer that is trained in this stuff and uses disposable needles and proper implant grade jewelry. Do not risk her health, safety and happiness for vanity.

I wouldnt recommend it! I have an 11 month old daughter. I wanted to get hers done as well but then I realized I am getting them done, because I want them done. She wouldnt really care about it. Wait untill she is understands how to not pull on them. Babies tend to pull on there ears when they are teething. So that can cause an infection. I would also wait until she knows how to keep up with them. Wait until she is like 3 or 4 years old. When SHE WANTS IT DONE!

I was 12 when I got my ears pierced. My friend got hers at 13. Hers ending up getting infected and she had to go onto pills to get rid of the infection. Though, babies sometimes yell all the time anyway, so maybe it may not be a bad idea. The only reason why I am concerned is if they get infected. That it may be hard for you to get the infection medicine to your child.

My older sister got her's at the doctor's and I got mine at claires. You should go to the doctor to be sure it is done right.

Yes, I have a recommendation. Don't do it.

It's only your obsession with the looks of the baby, otherwise the baby could care less. Wait until she can decide for herself whether she wants pierced ears or not.'
