This professor has a lot of tips for learning biochemistry posted on his course website:
http://www.usm.maine.edu/~rhodes/LearnStrats99/index.html

If you go to this page of his, each topic has a learning strategies link. Check out some of those for specific kinds of tips...

Biochemistry is great stuff, but it does take work to deal with it. I don't think it is a course you can effectively cram for. You need to read the material (sometimes several times), work on the problems in the text or that are assigned, ask questions when you aren't sure of something or don't understand something the prof says and most of all, try to like the course...

Depends where you live.

In the UK, visit www.ibms.co.uk
In Australia visit www.aims.org.au

for accredited courses which include biochemistry. They probably have similar courses in the US and Canada, just look for laboratory medicine, biomedical science, or medical laboratory science courses. You can major in biochemistry in the final years of the courses.

You can prepare for the courses generally by studying Chemistry in your final years in high school. Physics helps, as will Mathematics, and to a lesser extent, Biology.

I hope this helps
