I gt my very first ultrasound at 16 weeks pregnant. It is best (if you want to know the sex0 to wait until like 20 weeks. I would suggest getting an ultrasound during 18-24 weeks because then it will be easier for them to get accurate measurements of the baby and examine the baby correctly. I didn't find out that my daughter had a very serious heart condition until 32 weeks because my first ultrasound was too soon. Good luck.

I don't know of a place that gives free ultrasounds. Mine cost $170 with insurance. Unfortunately, I had bleeding, so they did an ultrasound and found I had sac separation. 2 weeks later they did a second ultrasound to discover the sac had grown back 100% (thank the Lord). At 13 weeks I had bright bleeding and filled up a pad, the next day the ultrasound showed the sac had separated a second time (thank the Lord it was only 10%). My next ultrasound will be at 15 weeks.
I have heard ultrasounds are not always done in "low risk" pregnancies. Some are done at 20 weeks to determine the sex.
Good luck. Pregnancy is an amazing, God-given gift. Enjoy!

Between 18 and 22 weeks is the best time to get ultrasounds most deffinately if it is to tell the sex of the baby, also that can show if there is any abnormalities on the baby. DOnt know about free ultrasounds didnt think they give them for free, good luck.

you can call around to local clinics...depending on your income, you can probably get one done for free. How far along are you? I had an ultrasound at 5 weeks, 20 weeks, then another at 40 weeks when my little guy didnt want to come out. Good luck!

all the exams shes doing are widely used. many times you shouldnt be having maximum of ultrasounds and lab exams performed in spite of the undeniable fact that there may be a scientific reason she feels its needed for. i comprehend with me I had approximately 8 ultrasounds for the period of my being pregnant because of the fact they have been observing my son very heavily for start defects and he replaced into born a week late. Ultrasounds dont impression the infant, the device makes use of sound waves that bounce off of the infant reflecting its photograph onto the machines show. thoroughly threat free.

I think it is different for everyone. I had mine at 9 1/2 weeks, but I had a previous miscarriage. Then I had one at 19 weeks, to determine size. Just went to the dr today and my blood pressure was up a bit so I have to go again next week for another. Good luck!
