Columbus never got to mainland america did he???
san Salvador (his first discovery and his rename)
cuba
and other island
on 3 voyages...
Would not "american natives" believe that it is arrogance (or stupidity or ignorance) to claim to "discover" something that they had live upon over 11000 years?

He shouldn't because technically he found Cuba and those areas not America. Also, he wasn't the first person there. The Native Americans had been there for sometime. They had to of come from some other area, so I would give them the credit not Columbus.

You can't discover something that was already there, now we can say that Columbus found how to get to another part of the world.

I think he shouldn't get credit...maybe that way we can do away with Columbus Day and the bank will be open and the mail will run.
