Usually, they use sticks or something and act out the scene. Then, they use one of the following programs to edit the scene and add the lightsaber look: EffectsLab (formerly AlamDV), Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, MainVision, The GIMP, LSmaker, crimsonfx (for Mac), or Blender.
Sound comes from either Star Wars movies or combination of a film projector's idling motor and interference caused by a television on an unshielded audio cable.
