This 40 yr old woman has been my neighbor for almost 12 years. Our teenage sons are friends (her son is 15, mine 17). On and off for the past 2 years she has been selling drugs (crack) out of her house. Her "customers" come to her back door to make their purchase. Now, her back door is on the side of her duplex, which is right at my front door. There is a 3 ft. wall that seperates her back door from my front driveway. So, there is a lot of "traffic" in my driveway of unscrupulous characters walking up my driveway and hopping over this wall to her back door. This happens all through the day, but it gets really bad at night. Her "customers" don't care if we see them or not, heck, sometimes they even say hi as they take their leap over the wall. It seems as if every "crackhead" in L.A. knows to come to her house. I can't stand it anymore. She even has the nerves to say goodmorning to me and wave everytime she sees me. I have tried reporting this to the police but nothing happens.

I suggest you video tape it if possible and take it back to the police. If they refuse to help again, go straight to the district attorney. Im tired of hearing how the police dont follow the law, but only do what they feel a situation warrants.
In the mean time, install one of those motion sensored lights. Maybe that will bother them enough to at least keep them away from your house.

I would turn her in to CPS, maybe if you did that the police would have to do an investigation being there's a child involved. Also her son would be safer. I really hope you don't let your son go over there anymore though . Good luck.

No don't bother callind Child Wefare Services. Call the Police instead.... they will call CWS.

If she is doing this and you've known for any length of time shame on you for not doing something sooner.

Do what you have to do...the next drugs she sells could be to your son.

I think you need to think of the welfare of your son, he doesn't need to be exposed to that at home. In the UK you can go to the council who will remove the offending people who operate crack houses but I'm not sure what the proceedure is in the US. Either way, report her. Your loyalty is to your family first and foremost. Its just a shame that she is exposing her son to this.

It is your civil duty to report any misconduct! if not then you should be jailed for not saying anything! That could be your child at a friend's house and the same thing can be happening. If you're got your big eyes open then open your big mouth too!

well, I if you have contacted the police and there seems to be no resolution, I would try and see if your county has a drug task force, make an anonymous tip and see what happens, you don't want your name associated with her getting busted you might get hurt....or try the state police (let them know that you have contacted your local police and nothing has happened)....If that fails then I would try the child welfare people...good luck...

yes or would you rather wait until the crackhead that has been up on a 5 day binge decides to no longer pay for his crack and in his blind crack induced frenzy kicks in your door and kills your family for something that's not there!

i would definately try to keep your distance, and calling the child welfare people will only hurt the boy, on the other hand having to be in that situation is worse. i guess you have to know that you are doing the right thing and call them, and keep it anonomus. dont tell anyone. you dont want to lose your son's respect or anything like that.

thats absolutly rediculous, you need to report thhat immedeatly, but if the son is almost 18 you might as well wait then just turn her in so he wont have to go into the system
