Do you think receiving a B in chemistry is a bad grade? I don't think it is but my father disagrees with me. How should I convince him that I am trying really hard and that a B is still good? It isn't even my final grade. It's only half-way through the quarter

anything other than an "A" means you can do better.

A , B is a very good grade just below excellent. Just explain to your father that you are doing your best and in this class a B is your best. I am sorry, I do not understand why your father is upset with a B. If it was a D i would totally understand. I hope that he lightens up, Good luck and God Bless I wonder if he understands that chemistry is a difficult class for most people. Perhaps you could talk to your teacher and see if they would be willing to call your father and have a talk with him.

It depends. Did you do the best YOU can do? If so, then that's enough. You can only do your best. :-) If not, try to find out the problem behind getting that grade. Once you solve it, you'll get As & A+s in no time!

I wish I had gotten a B in Chemistry!!! My grade was a D........... first D I had ever gotten in high school! Chemistry is hard as h*ll.... I don't care what anyone says. That is the hardest class in high school! Anyone who says differently needs to go enroll in a chemistry class again... because they probably either never took chemistry or had an easy teacher.

Getting a B is perfectly fine, especially if you're only half-way there. If your dad is really upset about it, you can pull up your socks and work a little harder or ask for extra credit if you need to. If I were you I'd calmly explain that there's still plenty of time to change the B. For your own sake, I wouldn't argue with him about it. Just say you'll try harder.

B is a VERY good grade, you know you were doing good, who gives a crap about what your dad says, chemistry is hard for most people, but that is an AWESOME grade, don't worry about it, you are fine.

It is a good grade..what your father might think though is that you are not working to your potential. If you are sit him down and explain to him that you are working very hard and ask him why he has these feelings. If you act like an adult about it and sit him down like one he will respect you for it.

I think it is a good grade but if you could aim an A... that would be better... and just tell your dad don't put too much pressure on you

For a hard subject, a B isn't a bad grade at all! Your trying and that's the main thing!

chem is a hard class...if you are trying hard then a B is fine. C is average anyway, i hate that parents want kids to have all A's anyway...then A would be average and they would have to invent more letters
