The 20th Legion marched into Caledonia [Scotland] and was never seen or heard of again. Little wonder then that Hadrian, while Governor of Brit built a wall. It's not just Scotland the Romans were fearful of - they kept about five legions in Brit for much of the time - there was constant rebellion. Following Bodega's victory of the Roman Legions, during which her British Army destroyed two Legions, destroying also Colchester, where two thousand Romans were herded into the temple and burned alive. In addition to the destruction already described, Bodega also burned the new Roman London to a crisp. Not a single human being or animal was left alive. If you dig down 30 feet beneath the City of London today, you hit the charcoal left by Bodega's fire of Londinum.

Correction, who they did not want to bother defeating, because it wasn't worth it. The British Isles were all tribal at the time and the Romans were invited in by the tribes on the east to help them defeat tribes to the west. SCOTLAND DID NOT EXIST AT THE TIME.

No. From the Humber to the Mersey would be better. I live near what's left of Hadrian's Wall, and it wasn't a defensive barrier, just a big fat border line - this bit's ours, that bit isn't. People could come and go as they wanted, as long as they were peaceful; troublemakers could be easily blocked and dealt with (permanently), whichever way they were heading.

i think from a historic or tourist point of view it could be good, but I like the people of Scotland, and its true the Romans could not defeat the people of Scotland.

Large sections of the wall were rebuilt during the Victorian era to make the wall more presentable in some areas.

Ya -- the UK would be a much better country with a giant wall between England and Scotland. That wouldn't lead to any hatred.

Yes... this time make it higher and stronger, with no entrance to England, but first we need to deport all of the Scots there. And lets hope your workshy people can pay enough taxes to support you sweaties.

And while we're at it... build one around the bloody Welsh too.
