Layers are the key to dressing for New England weather.

At this time of year it can be quite warm during the day, but at night it drops down to be pretty chilly so, depending on what you're used to, you may need some really warm clothing.

As a rule, October is a long pants kind of month. Short sleeves are fine as long as you have a sweater, sweatshirt or coat to throw on if it gets cloudy, rainy and/or dark out.

If you are going to be outside after dark for any extended period of time, you will want a fairly substantial jacket and maybe even some gloves as it can get down into the 40s some evenings.

I love our whacky weather.... keeps us on our toes ;)

Have a great time staying here!

It isn't that cold in October. Actually, tomorrow is supposed to be almost 80. At night it gets pretty cold, but during the day a t-shirt with a light sweater or hoodie would be fine, even some times just a long sleeve tee. At night you'll want a light jacket. Jeans, regular weight pants, etc. You won't need to be bundled up at all yet.

I doubt it if it's going to be that cold. Just bring a light jacket and wear stockings/pantyhose under your outfit. It's still October.

Bring a warm pyjamas/nightgown though. The temperature still drops sharply at night and we tend to save on heat.

Bring clothes to layer and you will be safe. After the middle of Oct. the temps start to drop.

it will probably be a bit nippy.
a sweatshirt and pants should be good.
however; you could bring gloves and a coat in case.
