on my pc I have installed cursor mania i believe its called it puts a tool bar right on your computer and you can quickly change them whenever you want.Oh yeah and it's free!!!

Watch what you are doing when you go to those free download sites, many bundle spyware along with the download. If you have windows XP go to start, control panel, double click on mouse, when the dialog box opens click pointers, click the button under scheme to get a lot of pointers.

you need to be careful!!
a lot of the sites with free cursers and smileys will include spyware and/or their crappy little search engine.. it has happened everytime ive tried to download one of either of them..

If it's Comet Cursor (does anyone still use this?) stay away from it. They're a pain and very hard to get rid of.
