I don't get it. It seems like everyone hates America because of this war. Are we just suppose to sit back and watch terrorists crash into our towers and kill thousands and not do anything about it? It also seems like everyone is coming here to live anyway. So is America really that bad? Why is everyone against us?

Jealousy and hatred go hand in hand. We have what millions of others want, and do not have, therefore they hate us.

Most of them aren't willing to pay the price our ancestors have paid in order to have what we have. They think it should be handed to them. They are like people in certain relationships who think. " If I can't have so-and-so, then nobody can". It's a very sick way of thinking.

Im from the UK. And it kinds of sucks that Blair is friends with Bush. Let me tell you this, ehm, yeah it is your fault. Of course i am blaming America with the rest of the world. Yes you were supposed to just watch the twin towers collaps with thousands of people dying. Of course the States did something about it, but now i think Bush is really sweating because things seem to get worse in Iraq. America is not that bad, but really, this is their fault, and also, some people just dont like the way Americans act, thats why of the twin towers. You are not alone Europe is also having difficulties, sweetie. Not everyone is against you.

First of all, not everyone hates us. It just seems that way because of our perception of media reports.

Secondly, when one claims the moral high ground, one better act right. To claim that we are fighting for freedom and justice and then claim the right to detain and torture at will without judicial oversight is a very hypocritical stance.

Bush makes very dumb statements without thinking about the perceptions of those who are not Americans. he's not very bright.

Not everyone is coming here to live.

Not everyone is against us. Some are against our current policies. Some are not. Some hate us. Some can't wait to get here to live. And some couldn't care less about any of this.

When we speak in generalities, we do not stop to consider the reality of what is really going on.

If somebody was dropping bombs on you, occupying your country and imposing upon you a government you don't want, would you feel kindly towards them? Add to that, that these things are happening because someone you had no connection to did something horrible to someone else. None of this makes for close friendships with either those who have been occupied or those who are standing on the sidelines observing.

Yes, when we are attacked, we have a right and responsibility to punish/eliminate those who have attacked us.

However, when your neighbor comes to your house and slaps you, you don't retaliate by hitting his little sister over the head with a baseball bat. That's called "cowardice."

uh... well first of all its a fact now that this war has nothing to do with 9/11. Also it is more and more apparent that we knew they had no wmd. So basically we attacked a country for no reason(except for the richest of us to get richer) and we got away with it. Theoretically we could do that to any country in the world. make up a reason, kill em all. wouldnt that make you a tad worried and distressed about us if you were in a different country?

Because Bush has no diplomatic skills at all. Even before 9/11, he was busy making enemies of other countries just by the arrogant way the administration conducted itself. The whole "You're with us or against us" thing doesn't help either.

People hate America because they're just jealous of our freedom and our way of living.
