Both are great processors. If you can get Windows XP 64-Bit edition with your laptop, then go with the AMD. If you cannot, choose the Intel. There is no point in having the AMD 64 bit if you cannot use the 64bit technology.

The Intel(R) Core(TM) Duo processor T2250 (1.73 GHz).

Enven thought the GHx is slow then the other one. This is a newer processor, and it can handle more programs and applations then a single core processor.

It has two processors working together, adding more RAM in the future would work wonders if you wanted to know!

If you can get Windows XP 64-Bit edition with your laptop, then go with the AMD. If you cannot, choose the Intel. There is no point in having the AMD 64 bit if you cannot use the 64bit technology. Almost all applationcs are still in 32 bit anyway..

I hope this helps.

the difference is that little, so get the laptop with the better graphics card.

edit:
after reading the answers below i have to clarify 3 things.
1. both are dual core processors
2. the Core Duo is Windows Vista capable even though it is only a 32bit processor
3. the cache of the Intel Core Duo is 2MB compared with only 512KB of the Turion (question: who left whom in the dust?).

The core Duo, but usually costs more

The one with the higher FSB speed. You have to compare actual bus speed to actual bus speed. FSB speed on Intel's is 4x the actual bus speed, since they send 4 bits in a cycle. So the actual bus speeds are 133Mhz and 166Mhz. On Ram the stated speed is twice the actual speed, since it is DDR (double data rate) So 533 Mhz RAM is actually 266Mhz. So either way your RAM is faster than your bus, so go with the one with the faster FSB.

i don't understand if im qualifies for this, yet im an editor and use some quite device in intensity courses, intel center duo works large for me, yet i exploit OS X. if i had to declare, identity say intel center duo, yet having pronounced that, it would desire to purely be a extra useful OS like Mac OS X

i would go with the amd every day of the week.
the difference in cache on the two chips makes an incredible difference that leaves intel in the dust.
hope this helps!
