plz explain the following context i have taken it from a jeans (clothing) article plz help?

the stressed fabric patterns are "down the middle" to trick the eye into seeing a slimmer body.

it means that the patterns will be in the middle of the jean 2 make it look HOT on those skinny chicks....like me!!!
