It seems everytime I open a door to my house a bunch of flies come in! I have a dog and I try my best to keep everything clean (including him) but no matter what I do I keep having fly problems. Can you suggest anything that might get rid of them? Also whats the best way to kill them once they are inside?

I know how strange this sounds, but its been proven to me many times over... take a Ziplock sandwich size bag and fill it about 1/2 way with water. Then hang it up on the outside of your doorway above the door. I just used a staple gun. Just try it, Im not making this up...it really works!

You could try hanging a fly strip outside your door, but those tend to look unattractive.
You could try some Raid bug products. I included the link below.

Hang a cotton ball or two in the door way.
Get a fly swatter for smacking them.
By the way, if they are a bright green in color, you might have a gas leak.

Place a towel in a bowl. Soak the towel with pine oil or pine-scented cleaner and place the bowl just outside the entrance. You can also use amonia.

Put up a glue strip.
