Assuming you regularly 'muck-out' your machine and run up-to-date spyware, then your problem is likely to be due to a lack of memory (RAM).
The BT Yahoo! browser uses about 74Mb of R.A.M. If this is a problem then revert to Internet Explorer (if you download the Yahoo! toolbar you can still use tabs in the I.E. browser).
Also, if you are using Norton Antivirus which comes with some of the BT options then you will need another 41Mb of R.A.M.
Together these alone total 115Mb so your machine would be more comfortable with at least 512Mb installed (256Mb is not really sufficient if you run these two things plus all the other essential processes that require R.A.M).

Spyware. You should have an anti-spyware solution on your computer. I recommend that you go to http://www.download.com and get AD-AWARE and SpyBot Search & Destory. Install, run, update and scan your computer with both programs.
