It was a huge disappointment after 1 & 11. She may be a good director but I actually cheered when Sofia Coppolla's Character was shot. She was Soooo Bad! And when did Connie become the Evil Cow she was in 111?

Godfather III was not as good as the previous one, but it is an amazing movie on its own right. All the Vatican Bank/Pope Joannes Paulus I was brilliant, perhaps even the best story in any of the 3 godfather movies, but there were two things out of place: Tom Hagen was missing, and Soffia Coppola's acting really sucked donkey balls.

Naturally when you try to sequel the best film ever made, it will be hard to top.
I was very disappointed with GFIII, but this has worn away somewhat over time. I am glad it was made when it still could be (that is to say while some of the people were still available). Not *that* bad with Michael, Kay, Connie, Al Neri, Enzo the baker and Johnny Fontaine (LOL). Come to think of it, with only six of the original cast, its not that bad. Raf Vallone (Pope JP I) is splendid as is Eli Wallach (Altobello).

Godfather III is a good movie, not as good as Godfather I, but Godfather I is an epic, and epics can't be remade.
