I consider myself an independent, but I have probably voted Republican most of the time, at least in the presidential elections. To me, the candidate's religion, or even lack of religion, would make little or no difference. I have known a number of Mormons over the years, and I have found them to be good people. I think a Mormon president would be good for America.

I am no longer a Republican -- because I am no longer going to vote -- but the last time I did vote in a Presidential election, 2000, the candidate I most strongly preferred to be the nominee was a Mormon -- Orrin Hatch. I believe in following the law of the Constitution, which tells me not to base my decision of who to vote for on religion.

Nope. he's an usually happening to undesirable speaker and has an exceedingly scattered coverage list. He had the great element about a politically extra homogeneous inhabitants which made coverage progression an deployment a lot less complicated. He develop into no longer extraordinarily staggering as ambassador to China throughout that tenure, even with he's like for my section i do not see him as being really presidential. Thinkingblade

I'm a Republican and if the Candidate is "well qualified" by my definition I could care less if they are Mormon, Buddhist, Catholic, Male, Female, Black, White or Asian.
