they are born in amnionic sacs like humans. Admittedly, cat belly buttons don't look quite like the human version.
Virtually all mammals, including apes and lions, have umbilical cords and hence navels.

Yes, dogs and cats do have belly buttons. If you can convince a dog or cat to lie on their back for a bit, you'll find it in roughly the same area that humans have a belly button.

Yes, of course they do. They are mammals just like we are. They grow in their mother's womb and are connected via an umbilical cord. The belly button is the remnants of where the cord once attached. It is just not as noticeable on dogs and cats because they have harry bellies.

I dont think they are supposed to.My cat Poopyman had one, we took him to the vet and found out it was a herniated umbilical something.Anyway it was a hole inside his stomach and his intestines were starting to come through making a huge ball on his stomach that looked like a belly button. We had to have the vet give him surgery or he would have died. He is fine now!
