A unicycle for beginners? Would that involve training wheels?
That takes away from the whole purpose doesn't it?
Just get on one and work it!

A lot in choosing a unicycle is about wheel size:
For general purposes I would recommend a 20" unicycle. Generally you will have more control (somewhat easier to learn) on a unicycle with a smaller wheel than with a big one.
If you want to use it indoors 16" is even better as 20", but also the smaller the wheel size, the slower you are going to be. So 20" is a good wheel size to start with.
It will take you anything from 5 hours to more than 10 hours of practice time until you can ride it straight. Then you still will have to learn how to turn, how to get onto it without holding on to anything (or anybody) else. There will be no end of new things to do on a unicycle you can practice.
If you are not sure if you will have fun, buy a cheap unicycle first. Look on ebay. If you look for a brand, Torker unicycles are not quite the cheapest ones, but fairly low and they are pretty reasonable quality for their price. At least I've have one I am happy with. If you end up riding a lot you may want to invest in a more expensive saddle or more expensive unicycle, though I wouldn't do that until you know you are really going to stick with it.

its pretty hard but if you have persistance you can get it down...i recommend juggling its very easy. also the seat moves on a unicycle which makes it harder
