Language is the first corruptor. Through it we lose the innocence we are born with as we try to objectify our environment, and to fit into society.
Consumerism, in Western Society, is the second corruptor. More and more child psychologists are being employed by marketing and advertising firms in order to indoctrinate children younger and younger. It also instills within children the notion that to "have" is "correct" and to "have-not" is "incorrect". Rather than allowing a child to grow with a free-mind, preparing them for great things, they can be subjugated into becoming life-long consumers and market trends.
That's all I have.

Living itself is the most corrupted action. It encompasses all the bad things ever happened in human terms. If not for it the world would be less corrupted.
The fact that we consider a right to be living is kind of absurd, but no more than the violent world of the wild animals.
If one has to find the culprit, I would blame it on the genetic make up of all living things, that most of them do not process the full package to an independent way of living.
Most must acquire one form of Amino acid / organic chemical or another form from other living things. It is this requirement of exchange that caused the most violent behaviors on earth.
As a whole Eco system, it is to some degree self sufficient and therefore more perfect than the parts alone. Are we therefore missing the whole picture by focusing on the petty stuffs?

SPITE/MALICE
CONTEMPT/PREJUDICE
CONDESCENTION/DISCRIMINATION
RAPE/VIOLATION
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE
Society has laws to deal with offenders and hold them accountable. It is an imperfect system, and some slip through the cracks and loopholes in the law. Sometimes our system fails because of this.
Another reason is that some are afraid the system will fail and don't even give it a chance. Many crimes go unreported. Physical abuse of many types, against children and spouses are the majority.
Some victims are afraid to report behaviors, such as harassment in the workplace, because it is hard to define and prove. There are many harassing behaviors that are tolerated by management, in which case they blame the victim. Since workplace harassment is a liability, it is easier to tolerate than to defend against a lawsuit. As is with bullying in schools.
There are garden variety crimes such as larceny and theft, robbery, burglary, and forgery. Then you have violent crimes such as physical abuse, rape, aggravated assult, arson, and homicide. These are crimes where there is usually a perpetrator and a victim. They are direct and deliberate.
Some crimes happen when those who know are afraid to report, such as safety violations, terrorism intelligence reports, unsafe bulding conditions, substandard industrial equipment, substandard military equipment, etc. These are crimes that are indirect, and not deliberate, but rather can be written off as "accidental".
In a world where we all have our own agenda, our own priorities, and our own methods, somewhere we are bound to have conflict. People are fallible. Everyone has their price. Morality is relative.
Ages ago, organized religion was created. It was borne from a faith in a higher power, and spun into a way to control chaos. Many people still "practice" or "observe" a religious faith, but seldom live by the principles they preach. Religion is more often used as a status symbol, like a designer label that makes people feel good about themselves to show off to others.
So in out civilized society, we have to rely on an imperfect justice system that some do not trust, and sometimes can be manipulated. But it's all we have. Since morality is relative, the only consistency we can count on is our judicial system.
It is the best we can do, to keep religion separate from education and juducial systems. That keeps things more objective. It works a lot better than the countries that mix religion, politics, and education. Faith is manipulated by the agenda of fallible people, such as fanatics and fundamentalists, and through mass ignorance, persuasion, fear, and terror; it is difficult to conatin or control.
No matter how bad things are here in the USA, we do not really have it that bad, when we think about it.

2. Murder/Mayhem
3. Greed, lusting for power or wealth at the expense of others
4. Forgetting that no man is an island. We are all linked together on this world.
5. Parents that don't teach their children to have compassion for others.
It starts at home. It begins when children can begin to understand at 4 to 5 years old. Parents, teachers, religious leaders, grandparents must partake in this responsibility to train children responsibly. Squelch hate.

Well, by definition corruption is when you use your power in public office for personal gain, so the only corrupt thing I can think of is:
1. Using the power invested in you (in public office) for personal gain.
All the other staff people is writing (eating, sex, etc) are just natural things.

#1: Not being true to yourself because of fear of rejection or fear of monetary loss.
#2: Encouraging that in others.
#3: Allowing others to do that when you have the power to stop it.
#4: Needing to keep hold of your power once you have found it by accepting bribes and bargains and not caring any more that you have lost your own self.
#5: Having held onto that power, using it for more greed and not for the things you think should be stopped or prevented.
Maybe I have listed them in the wrong order ... I'll have to sleep on it! But #1 stands definitely.

They are six in number and not five
1) Kama= Actions by lust
2)krodha = Actions by anger
3) lobha = Actions by covetousness
4) Moha= Actions by greed
5) Mada = actions by pride
6) Maatsarya = Actions by jealousy
These qualities are in all of us in varying quantities. Only a saint is above these qualities. One has to start with self analysis as to what is the bad quality predominant in me and what should i do to reduce it. If we keep on trying at least by the *** end of life we would have improved to a great extent.

You start with yourself make sure you are not corrupt, if you are forgive yourself and leave it in the past, but don't forget it, you might need it for future reference. Live as God would have you, that is you are responsible for yourself and hurt no one, believe in the ministry of angels and call on them for guidance, be to others as you would have them be to you, send out thoughts of Love that the people will be at peace with each other.
