My friend is starting bull riding and she is going to buy a bull. My uncle owns a dairy farm and he has bulls, I would ask him to sell her one. His bulls are Holsteins, would they work for bull riding?

If your friend is interested in starting to bull riding then I would suggest asking around for a group around who does this type of thing. The bulls used for riding are usually bred and are certain breeds. A true bull for riding can fetch up to thousand of dollars. Not only that but they are used to being herded into the shoots. Before jumping on a bull try the training barrels too. Your friend will need to learn some of the proper techniques to riding. It is a great sport that my kids and I enjoy. My boys started out mutton bustin and now are up to steer riding. Good luck on your quest.

I guess they could, but she would be better to get a Brahma cross. One of the ones with a bit of a buffalo hump. this will be closer to what she will be competing on. WHY she would want to buy her own bull is beyond me though. If she gets into rodeo, bull riding has schools where you practice on the actual Rodeo stock. It is a much more cost effective way to go. And has the benefit of professional advice and support. You would not really want to be all alone with your peed off pet bull after you have been thrown. And you really need a hand to rig down, and to open the gate of the shute. not to mention getting off of the beast.

NO those Bulls have the final lives out of any livestock!! they have top rate care and diets, and retire in extensive pastures for use for breeding. Bull driving seems undesirable, in spite of the shown fact that that's no longer. remember those are extensive animals with thick hides. they're experienced to greenback with the aid of utilising a rope that's tight around their flank. Bulls have a organic combat or flight reaction while tension is utilized to this section. It does not harm them. they do no longer torture the bulls like human beings in mexico and spain at bull fights, those are basically cruel. many human beings would be unable to understand the two are very distinctive. Bulls existence in united statesa. falls under 3 categories: castrated and sent to feedlot used as a breeder at feedlot for some years then killed used as a bucking bull, retire and used for breeding

Put the equipment on him and see if he bucks. If he doesn't buck, it doesn't matter what kind of bull he is. My son bullrides for high school. They have places if you ask around that you can go practice. They usually charge like $10 a bull to get on and practice. It's a dangerous sport. Make sure they have a helmet. We have seen lots of injuries.
