Hi there - I'm 18 weeks pregnant and have just found out that I have Placenta Praevia, my placenta totally covers my cervix, I'm not worried about a possible cesar but I would like to know if anyone has experienced this and can tell me what they went through. Thanks!

I've never heard of it, but I did some research and this is what I found.

The base of the placenta covers or partially covers the cervix, blocking the baby's exit. The problem is that the placenta is full of blood and has an increased tendency to bleed when in this position.
Women who are found to have placenta praevia are scanned regularly to reassess the condition. In many cases the placenta moves away from the neck of the womb as the pregnancy progresses. If your placenta is still lying across the neck of the womb (or very close to it) in the late stages of pregnancy then doctors will probably recommend a Caesarian section because of the risk of bleeding during the birth.

I had that when I was about 5 weeks pregnant .. my daughters father and I were having sex, and turned on the lights afterwards to find the bed covered in blood .. rushed to the hospital to find out that the placenta dropped onto the cervix, and was put on complete bed rest (only up for potty breaks) for 2 months straight.

I had one with my second child my experience was bad I came home and just bleed I had no clue what it was because I went to the docs the week before and I was fine, this was something spontaneous that happened. So watch yourself be careful and do nothing absolutely nothing that will put a strain on you physically and mentally and the baby. You probably are considered a High Risk now so take everything your doc says seriously.

I had this with my first pregnancy. I experienced heavy bleeding that would go from real light to extremely heavy. My doctor put me on bed rest for the rest of the pregnancy.

My best friend had it and by the 38th week it had moved and she was able to give birth the good ole fashioned way - however she was induced and ended up with a C-Section anyway =(
