"Disarming"? How exactly is that done? It would have been an exceedingly difficult operation (because N. Korea might very well nuke their long-time rival to the south, only thirty miles away, immediately, and the U.S. would, of course be blamed for starting something that resulted in that unprecedented calamity). As I say, it would have been "difficult" five years ago; in the current political climate it is really impossible. The United States has already developed so much distrust among the international community that the U.S. is feckless in its efforts to bring N. Korea and Iran to heel. The world is in a lot of trouble.

Using what, for instance?
NK doesn't exactly leave its weapons laying around in outdoor storage sheds for all to see, guarded by a couple of privates with AK-47's. Assuming they have WMDs, they are probably hidden and buried deeply in underground bunkers. The geography of NK is almost entirely mountainous - plenty of places to hide things you don't want people to find.
A few other things to consider:
China might get just a little concerned if the US decides to take preemptive action.
NK just might decide to shake things up in Seoul. It is reported that NK has 13,000 artillary pieces aimed at Seoul, population 12 million. And NK can fire 1/2 million shells and rockets per day at Seoul, located only 30 miles south of the border.
Or launch a more than a few missiles at Japan. NK has at least 650 short and intermediate range ballistic missiles.
Do you have any more ideas?

By disarming them, I assume you mean invade or bomb. The answer is that North Korea has a huge and highly capable military and the United States risks losing any conflict it may enter into with North Korea. Also, America would greatly anger and upset the Chinese, if it attacked North Korea. It won't happen.

Now this is a silly question. North Korea doesn't have any oil. Going after them does not give the Retardlicans the excuse to go up on the price of oil and rape the people of the world with the high oil prices.

Oh, I'm sure it has been considered. But you have answered your own question.......N. Korea is KNOWN to have them. N. Korea is also run by a power mad little dictator....Who might just feel the need to use one or two of them.
I don't think anyone really thinks they would be an easy push over.

North Korea is known to SAY they have nuclear weapons. By the way, this is not the first time that they CLAIMED to have them, but did not. That has been their strategy for a very long time. They cry wolf.

Because we only attempt to disarm countries we know don't have WMDs. Like Iraq. We never invade countries that have them.

Look....if the cops were coming to your house because you have a dead corps in the basement....do you think if they called you and said they were on their way...you would still have the body there?
........we'll tell them we are coming for a visit 6 months ahead of time and they wont have it then....and of course...the American people would look at our government like we are just trying to start YET another war....so
or the first set of UN inspectors will get fire and a second will get hired...and on and on.

The same reason that we have nuclear weapons and nobody comes after us...
But I guess you would say that the only reason we have nuclear weapons is for protection, huh?
