I believe it's statistically impossible for there to NOT be beings who exist at this very moment, who are not at least as intelligent as us. I'd be willing to bet at least one of those beings is wondering the exact same thing you are.

The thing is...we haven't figured out how to make it from here to there safely and within our lifetime. Space travel is alot more difficult and dangerous than it might seem. As of yet, we haven't even been able to land one of OUR beings on Mars yet. The chances of there being intelligent life within even 100 light years of us is remote, and they'd face the same challenges we haven't been able to overcome yet.

I can't prove they exist, but I can't prove they don't either. I'll stick with probablity and common sense when deciding whether or not "aliens" exist.

Peace

We do exist. Over the centuries, your planet was a curious place to visit once or twice and was not considered very interesting . Sure, your wars showed us how undeveloped you are as a species and your infantile,(in cosmic terms) dependence on god concepts does not bode well for you. We are now showing an interest in you because it is not often that we get to observe a species commit suicide. You are so close to maturing as a sentient species and it will be a shame to see you kill yourselves. There are just not enough of you becoming rational enough to force the issue. You let the least among you determine your fate, so be it.

Firstly Phillip A.K.A E.F. got it wrong. An alien is anyone who is not British.

Two separate questions here.

Aliens - probability suggests, to me, that life of some kind will have evolved on other plants.

Proof - Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

Earth - Given that our nearest star, which probably does not have a planetary system is a light year away, and given the number of stars in our Galaxy, it is highly unlikey that we have ever been visited.

We are all aliens in one form or the other. Alien just means something or some life form that is different from ours. There are alien life forms in the ocean, in the forests, etc.

I am sure there are life forms on other worlds. It is just that they are too far and with the billions upon billions of galaxies which in turn contain billions upon billions of stars, the possibility of pinpointing is just astronomical.

Most likely they are. For some reason it's just not public knowledge. If you had proof and it was taken away, what kind of believer would you be then? There are many stories but until it's on national TV and they are freely flying all over it's not worth worrying about. How do you think this knowledge would change our current lives?

The chances of there being other life forms in the Universe are 99.999%, the odds of other life forms being as or more inteligent than ourselvs, 99.999%. There are just TO many stars, but don't forget about time, inteligent civilizations may blink in and out of exsictance, and over billions of years, thats alot of blinking.

Hey, nobody's proven that YOU exist but I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt.

C'mon, with billions and trillions and gazillions of galaxies, you think this little ball of drt was the only one that has life?

If things are proven to exist, then you can't believe in them anymore. Sure there isn't concrete proof, but that's what believing is all about. Kinda like faith in God.

Yes.

Most are unintelligent and non-technological, just like 99.99999...% of life on Earth.

Some are intelligent and technological, but they exist on planets too far to communicate with or even detect with today's technology.
