i can deal with minor alterations to adapt a comic to a movie but this one just seems to far out there with no regards to the comic. as a fan of the comic i find it very hard to turn the other cheek and claim this to be a good movie. does anyone feel the same?and whats up jeans death, tons of water cant kill her but wolvies claws can?

I totally agree with you about them going to far away from the comics. I can understand changing small things on how Jean turned into the Peonix I guess, because of budget issues, but why do you have to make the Juggernaut a mutant when he most certainly is not. That and why did they not start with the original X-men cast. I understand everyone loves Wolverine, but still it could have been done better.

The third movie has some basis in the Dark Phoenix saga and the recent Cure storyline by Joss Whedon. I consider the movies a separate thing from the comics, which is why I didn't get my panties in a bunch when the Shi'Ar didn't show up and the Phoenix was explained as a separate personality. The rooting of this film series in reality, as much as possible, is part of its charm and I think that it would be a shame if they ever resorted to space travel, time travel or alternate universes. I actually didn't like the fact that Bobby "iced up" in this movie because it's just not realistic (as far as realism is possible in a comic book movie). But hey, it's a fantastic flick in my opinion, and I can forgive them that little thing.

I definitely think the X-Men films don't resemble the comic books in the slightest. You only have to look at certain characters (Rogue is a child, Wolverine dominates too much, Cyclops and Storm are relegated to being b-characters) and the storylines such as the disappointing emergence of Phoenix, which looked less like the awesome creature of power we know her to be in the comics and more like just Jean with mental problems.

I think they're going to have trouble continuing on fron X3 since they've already killed three major characters and, realistically, only Xavier can be brought back. I also think XM fans themselves are bored with the films. They just aren't what was expected.

A lot of comic book fans weren't happy with the film but I'm guessing because Hugh Jackman has signed off for a spin off and the fact that they always wanted to do a trilogy that the director thought it better to wrap the story up than leaving a lot of ends untied.

no, i thought they did a decent job. They can't follow the comics word for word... they would be making movies for the next 40 years.

definite it extremely is Dr.Xavier interior the mattress and for those authentic X-adult men followers or people who used to study the comics decrease back interior the day that female that asserts Charles is his spouse. My wager is (despite the fact that that's extremely retarded) is that even however his innovations replace into shred to products it by some skill didnt die and placed itself decrease back mutually piece by skill of piece simply by fact of ways efficient that's. i know, retarded.
