I don't know. I've been accused of flirting, when I only thought I was being friendly.

If a guy is deliberately jokingly mean to you (think of the little boy pulling the pigtails of the girl he likes) then that's a good sign...they still do this when they're supposed "adults," lol! Or if they go out of their way to get your attention. Some people will joke around with and tease you as a means of flirting...me, I do this when I'm being friendly and it gets misinterpreted a lot...if I actually think a guy is hot I am usually too nervous to be that witty!

Look at their non-verbal communication. If they lean forward when you are sitting and talking. Eye contact is always key and if you look at that person and he/she had been staring at you and quickly looks down.... then WAHOO they're flirting with you!!!!

It's all in the eyes .
If they look in your eyes and smile , I think that might be considered flirting .

well, not flirting exactly, you can know if this perdsn likes you if they look at you a lot, and when you look at them they get red, or another way is that they tease you a lot.
