You have in this example parentheses (), braces { }, and brackets [ ].

{7[4+3(3x+2)]2-(-9)}

First look at the parentheses. It shows that (3x+2) is multiplied
by the number three. So do the multiplication and get 9x+6. So we can now replace 3(3x+2) by its equal 9x+6.

Now our expression looks like this:
{7[4+9x + 6]2- (-9)}
Now look inside the brackets. You can replace 4+9x+6 by 9x+10
Now our expression looks like this:
{7[9x+10]2 - (-9)} The 9x+10 is being multiplied by both 7 and 2 so we get 14[9x+10] = 126x+140 and our expression becomes:
{126x +140 - (-9)}. Since minus times minus = plus we can replace -(-9) with just +9 so we get:
{126x +140 +9} = {126x + 149} =126x +149

Hope this helped

The different types of parentheses are used to distinguish themselves from one another, for easier reading. It's better than

(7(4+3(3x+2))2-(-9))

because you don't have to figure out with ( goes with which ). But otherwise, they all serve the same purpose.

Do you have the value of x?
If you do do the () first the [] second and the {} last and 2-(-9) is equal to 18

{7[4+3(3x+2)]2-(-9)}
{7[4+9x+18]2-(-9)}
{7[9x+22]2-(-9)}
{7.2[9x+22]-(-9)}
{14[9x+22]-(-9)}
{14[9x+22]-(-9)}
{[126x + 308 ] -(-9)}
{[126x + 308 ] + 9}
{126x + 308 +9}
{ 126x +317 }

They probably all mean the same, they just look different to make it easier to see what matches what.
