You are going to have to search for it, but you cannot read it online for free, because it is a copyrighted work and would not yet be available like Shakespeare. Just borrow it from a library and read it. It is a small book and doesn't take long is very good. The movie stayed pretty true to the book as well.

That is one of my favorite stories..... You won't be able to read it on line. It is illegal to read it for copy right reasons. Besides the book was so good, it kept me wanting to know more about what was going to happen to Pony Boy, And Soda Pop....You can get it at the library. It isn't A long book. I read it when I was 11 when I was on vacation. Also the movie was pretty good too. the story line is about the same. and it has some very good looking actors in it too. It's A great story, You will love it. I'd say go to the library or video store. Hope this was some help. Good luck on your report.....

However, reading it online is illegal, I think, so I can't help you there.
