Well I would get him something from your heart. You can NEVER go wrong with something from your heart.Just let your heart choose and you shouldn't have any problems.

Wow...I wouldn't consider March to be 'soon', but whatever.

Anyway, the one time I bought a birthday present for a non-boyfriend, I bought him a nice keychain (brushed stainless steel with his zodiac sign on it). It wasn't even all that big a deal, but it was special to him because he'd never had a girl buy him anything before.

"Really into sports" - does this mean he participates, or that he watches avidly? If it's the first, maybe see if you can go to one of his games and get a good photograph of him, and frame it for him. It should mean something to him that you took the time to come out and support him, and pay enough attention to him to get a good picture. If it's the latter, then figure out his favorite team and pick out a small piece of memorabilia. Certainly nothing more expensive than a ball cap if you aren't dating.

So this guy is into SPORTS so get him something sporty. Here are some possibilities:

1. A football to play at his house is amusing.
2. A picture frame with a sporty kind of look with you and him in it smiling. (You can get that picture by one of your friends taking a picture or his friend and develop it. It's a real, mature, and sweet thing.)
3. A card with a gift card to a sport place will be cool also!

There's many possibilities...but you know him best, so buy him something from your perspective. There's no such thing as a bad gift because it came from someone's heart. Who wants to here "Oh...what a great gift." saying it sarcastically :(

March is a long way away. You may not even be dating him anymore so don't buy him a present just yet.

But, a good idea for someone who likes sports is a sports plaque of a team that he likes.

Well, you could buy him a skate board with his name on it. Or cake, or any other extreme stuff since he is really into sports. Really, skate board always works, it is not that expensive you can get a cheap one. Have a sticker machine connected to the pc, type in his name on the pc, print and than the stickers are ready to go on the board.

If you are good friends then get him a really cool basketball or football. If you aren't good friends try to hang out with his friends that are girls and become good friends with them and then maybe you'll get to know him better. ask people what he wants for his birthday. They may be able to help you.

well that aint all that soon so u have awile to think. since hes into sports i would get him a football of his fav team. like if it steelers (like mine is) get him a steelers ball. and if u have 50 60 bucks to spend on him some of them are autographed. if that doesnt sound good to u ask him what he wants.

Find out what sports teams he likes. Then buy him some type of sports apparel or merchandise from one of his favorite teams e.g. cap, mug, etc. Or buy him some video game (although pricey) or something.
