Nosara is in Guanacaste, on the North Pacific, the most beautiful area in Costa Rica. There are a lot of amazing beaches in Guanacaste: Tamarindo, Flamingo, Papagayo, Guiones, Potrero, etc. All those beaches have a lot of vacational developments, you will find great restaurants, internet cafés, souvenir shops, and a lot of friendly people. Tamarindo is a very popular surf town.
If you want to travel to other areas, you can go to Arenal Volcano, Monteverde, or Limón on the Atlantic.
Enjoy your trip in Costa Rica ¡Pura Vida!

Montezuma on the Pacific coast is an ace place to pass time, you can also surf a bit further up the coast if you are into it.
There are some great thermal pools just near the Arenal volcano, nice to spend a night sitting in the pools drinking a beer and watching (if there is no cloud) or just listening to the volcano. San Jose is worthy of just a few days or at least I thought it was. A must, is to take a trip down to Panama and visit the canal - well worth it.

Quepos. Absolutley beautiful. I was traving thru there last month, stopped for lunch and spent 4 days. Great surf and many things to do, explore within minutes. Warning: You won't want to leave Costa Rica.

Join one of the Yahoo groups for Costa Rica. There are a couple of good ones...my wife and I want to go to CR this winter if we can afford it. From all we have learned it is a great place.

Check out this web site:
www.wavescr.com
The owner of this site knows how to speak english and she knows the absolutely best and most awesome surf spots, secluded or not, depending of what you want. She caters to people interested in surf tours in the Guanacaste northern region, or the Atlantic (Limon) and the pacific (Jaco) She has been in this business for more than 5 years, she is a professional surfer, and she gives surf tours for a reasonable price.

Have fun

Been to Nosara, in fact if you havent got accomodation there yet i can recommend the Rancho Suisso run by a lovely couple, the lady is called Ruth and her partner whos name i cant remember. They have a fabulous outdoor jacuzzi that you can lay in at night and have bats whizzing around just above your head. Its only a short walk from the Beach as well and if you go to the beach and turn left and walk about a mile theres a fabulous outdoor bar that serves really good food, i think its called Olgas.
