Use a^(x+y)=a^x*a^y:

8^(3x)*8^1 - 8^(3x) = 448

Factor:

8^(3x)(8-1)=448

Divide:

8^(3x) = 448/7 = 64

64=8^2, so you have

8^(3x) = 8^2

so

3x=2

meaning

x=2/3.

8^(3x+1)-8^(3x)=448
8^(3x)*(8-1)=4488^3x * 7=448
8^3x=64
3x=ln64/ln8=2
x=2/3

check
8^(3*2/3+1)-8(3*2/3)=448
8^(3)-8^(2)=448
512-64=448
448=448
